Happy Easter 2013

Wishing everyone a very Happy Easter!

The bear in the photo is Rufus.  He is a classic bear with a large hump made using German Helmbold mohair and wool felt. I have just finished him today...and thought he should have a nice ombre, daffodil coloured silk ribbon.

Thank you

Thank you to the collectors who adopted my bears over the weekend!  The teddies are, (as I write this), already on their way to Australia, Pennsylvania, and Georgia. One is waiting to be collected this evening.   The show was, as always, very enjoyable.  I love to see what all the other artists have made and many thanks also, to Daphne Towle who works very hard to make the show exciting and fun!

Teddies Worldwide Online Show Preview Has Started

The Teddies Worldwide Online Show preview has started. If you go to:

www.teddiesworldwide.com

you can vote for your favourites in several categories.  There are some beautiful examples of teddy bears to see, so it is well worth a visit.

I can now reveal my Preview bear, Jeremiah.  He is the first larger bear I have made in about a year from a completely new design I have been working on.  He is made from a gorgeous tipped Schulte alpaca.  He has black English glass eyes with wool felt eye whites. His nose is hand moulded using epoxy clay.   He has 6 joints, including a double neck joint.  His arms are wired for additional posing options.  His paws and feet have been appliqued and finished with trapunto.  He is quite a hefty chap.  He has been stuffed with Bouncifill, plastic beads and a pouch of stainless steel balls.  He is a very gentle bear, wearing his heart...not on his sleeve, but around his neck.  I hope you like him.

A Spring in the Step

I know that one lovely sunny day does not mean that Spring has arrived but it is enough to cheer me up!  When I get up at 6am it is now light, so we must be over the worst of winter.  It also means I need to change my blog wallpaper!

I am busy creating new bears for the Teddies Worldwide online show, and have just uploaded my preview bear to the site.  We are not allowed to show any bears early, but the online preview starts on Friday evening.

I cannot resist taking photos of the flowers in the garden.  These were taken at 3pm today.  The beauty of flowers never fail to take my breath away.
