It's funny how some bears just find a special place in my heart. I think that 'Blessings' is one of those! She is about 12 inches tall and has a locline neck and spine. She is made from Schulte alpaca with a needlefelted muzzle and brown leather pawpads. Her limbs have been wired so she can be posed in a variety of positions. Hope you like her!
In my opinion, you can never have too many cuddly black bear cubs!
Aww, she's very cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Katie!
DeleteBlessings is so sweet! Love those little feet and her face!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debora! I took her to a crafting group I belong to and two ladies asked me where they could buy the pawpads from! I explained that I buy glove leather, cut it to shape, hand sew them to the feet and then stuff and shape them.

Oh she is as sweet as can be. Wonderful job on her.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Joanne. I love black bear cubs. Oddly enough, I created her head about 3 months ago, and hated the head so much I put it aside. I went back to her at the start of the week, needlefelted more wool into her muzzle, made her ears and was very surprised by the improvement. It just goes to show that ugly ducklings sometimes grow into swans!

Thank you, Kay. I wanted to create a younger looking cub - say at about 3 months old. I changed the proportions of head to body, and am happy with the result. It probably sounds obvious, but I've struggled in the past to achieve this.
